Last updated: July 8, 2026
These guidelines describe what we expect from breeders and buyers using BreedScout. They apply in addition to our Terms of Service.
Listing standards
- Listings must accurately represent the dog, including breed, health, and genetic information.
- Photos and documents uploaded to a listing must belong to the dog described.
- Health clearances and certifications must be genuine and current.
Licensing compliance
Breeders must comply with all licensing requirements that apply to how they sell, including federal USDA/APHIS licensing if applicable to their sales method. Listings from breeders known to be operating without a legally required license may be removed.
Respectful communication
Messages between users should be honest and respectful. Harassment, discrimination, and abusive language are not permitted.
Prohibited conduct
- Misrepresenting a dog's health, genetics, provenance, or registration status.
- Attempting to defraud another user.
- Circumventing or discouraging compliance with applicable animal welfare or licensing laws.
- Using BreedScout's messaging or matching tools to route users off-platform in order to evade future platform fees or policies.
